Trainers and racing specialists are unanimous: Alain Perdrau is one of the best horse trainers Mauritius has produced who has and will always hold legendary status.
The father of actual Trainer Yannick Perdrau has passed away in the morning, on this Thursday , 20 July 2023, at the age of 72 years old.
Alain Perdrau surrendered his Trainer’s License in May this year, as he was fighting a long illness. However, this was not before a glittering career spanning 40 years in which he bagged 698 winners among which many classic wins, except for the Maiden Cup. Some of the horses which etched the great man into the history books and which stamped their names on the Champ de Mars race track are Noble Salute, Specialize, Botanique, Urban Cowboy, Major Prospect, Trump, Sentinal, Golden Dice and World Focus.
The Horse Racing Division presents its deepest sympathy to his son Yannick, daughter Melanie and family.
