Mauritian jockey Rai Joorawon was charged under Rule of Racing 208 (c) by the Stewards of the Horse Racing Division on Monday 22 August 2022. The particulars of the charge are that on Saturday 13 August 2022, for Race Meeting 14 at the People’s Turf Plc, he did not follow Trainer Ricky Maingard’s instructions in Race 7, The Sakili Social Entrepreneurship’s Cup, while riding the horse Spry. Jockey Joorawon pleaded not guilty during the inquiry, but was found guilty as charged. He was fined Rs 7500.
