A sample was taken from the horse G I Joe which collapsed and died during trackwork at the Champ de Mars, on 6 May 2022. This sample was sent to QuantiLAB laboratory for analysis. The Horse Racing Division confirms that it is in receipt of the report which findings state that a prohibited substance was found in the sample of G I Joe.
Trainer Samraj Mahadia has waived his right to have the B sample sent for confirmatory analysis and has accepted that the substance found was in the sample of G I Joe.
An enquiry has been opened into this matter by the Stipendiary Stewards which will be heard during the course of the next fortnight.
