HRD sets new date for start of the season
The start of the season postponed on trainers’ request. The Horse Racing Division has revised the calendar for the new season, and the first start is now scheduled for Saturday, April 23. This decision was taken after consultations, during a meeting at the HRD, on Friday, March 18. As a result, HRD reviewed the dates for the season, which were again sent to the Commissioner of Police for approval.
The decision to grant more days for the preparation of horses stems from the bad weather that has prevailed recently. Trainers stated that the heavy rains affected the workouts and, as a result, caused a delay in the horses obtaining peak fitness.
The HRD wants to give all the stables the chance to bring their horses in the best possible conditions before competition begins.
