Mauritian Jockey Rakesh Bhaugeerothee was given a 2 Race Meetings suspension by the Racing Stewards of the Horse Racing Division today, following his ride on horse October Sun in Race 8 during Race Meeting 17, run at the Champ de Mars racecourse on 24th August 2024.
Rakesh Bhaugeerothee was charged for contravening Rule 43.2.7, in that he did not make any attempt to take the inside gap entering the home straight and chose to stay behind horses.
Jockey Bhaugeerothee pleaded not guilty, but was found guilty as charged. He has the right to Appeal.
