Ribeiro banned 10 months for cocaine in urine sample

After a 1-year disqualification for tampering with a first urine sample given to the Horse Racing Division on Race Meeting 15, run at the Champ de Mars racecourse on 10th August 2024, Brazilian Jockey M Ribeiro has got an additional 10 months ban for the presence of a prohibited substance, cocaine, found in the second sample which he was ordered to give on the same day.

At the inquiry held at the offices of the HRD on Friday, 23 August 2024, M Ribeiro pleaded not guilty for contravening Rule 70.2.1, but was found guilty as charged by the Racing Stewards. He has the right to Appeal.
