Brazilian Jockey Ribeiro disqualified for 1 year

The Racing Stewards of the Horse Racing Division today sentenced Brazilian Jockey M. Ribeiro to a one-year disqualification, for tampering with a urine sample given on Race Meeting 15, run at the Champ de Mars racecourse on 10th August 2024. This resulted in him having to give a second sample on the same day, after the case was reported by the Sample Collector to the Racing Stewards.

In the inquiry held at the offices of the HRD, The Samraj Mahadia Stable’s Jockey was charged for contravening Rules 70.2.3, 80.1.19 and 80.1.34. He pleaded not guilty, but was found guilty as charged.  

Jockey M Ribeiro has the right to Appeal.
